Remanence presents a relic of the future; a body that is neither male nor female in appearance but at once refers to both the histories of classical sculpture as well as a speculative cyborgian body of the electromechanical future. A kinetic light from within the sculpture recreates the gesture of scanning a body as viewers are caught scanning it.
